The Purbojyoti Museum is mainly an ethnographic  heritage museum housed inside the Sankardev Kalakshetra Cultural Centre. The museum holds more than 4500 artefacts that tell the story of the past and the present in the realms of material culture and indigenous technology of northeast India. The cultural centre is also a major tourist attraction in Guwahati and is known for its ravishing food joints, emporiums, and exhibition spaces for artists.
