Birla Academy of Art and Culture is one of the pioneering centres of culture and art in Calcutta. It organises exhibitions of international standards and also provides financial aid to agencies for their artistic and cultural pursuits. 

The Academy is known for its collection of Indian works, both traditional and contemporary, as well as international artworks. Works by Louise Bourgeois, M.F. Hussain, and Anjolie Ela Menon are some of the highlights at the museum.
